I am Buridan's Ass with simulated annealing with random perturbation. Basically, as I simulate the outcome of my decision to eat one food or to eat the other, I include random perturbations to make sure that I am never trapped in a local minima or maxima. Roughly translated, this means that, if I stand in front of the refrigerator with the door open for long enough, I imagine my dad coming up and smacking me in the head with a newspaper for wasting energy and I randomly choose a food. It helps me not starve to death.
So, you avoid starving, by avoiding quenching.Interesting.
